Q&A

What inspired you to start competitive shooting, and how did you start?
My dad definitely inspired me to start; I grew up shooting and I shot my first-ever field match in December of 2021 with him. I didn’t do notably well, but I was hooked. The great people, the challenge, and the drive for improvement kept me coming back. Since then, I’ve continued to craft and hone my skills in an effort to be the best marksman I can possibly be.
90% dry fire 10% live fire – one dry fire trigger pull can oftentimes have more value to your training and fundamentals than a live fire trigger pull in my opinion.
Just understand that the situation is inevitable, and that the only thing you can change is how you handle it — so have some fun and have faith in your training.
Holding it all together throughout the entire match; anyone can clean a stage, but the best shooters clean more stages than anyone.
Dirt.
Generation Kill
“10 seconds!” – RO
In the shooting world: placing 3rd in open heavy and top young gun in my first ever NRL Hunter match. A rule stating you couldn’t place in any other divisions as a young gun was put into place a week or two later.

In my life outside of shooting: holding a pace of an 8:42 average mile for 50k with 2800 feet of total elevation gain.
Defiant – The shooting world is full of people following and copying what others do — and honestly I don’t blame them; oftentimes the most popular method is the best method, and I’m not saying I don’t do the same thing. However, I like to figure out what works best for me and openly defy the norms of the shooting world in some cases because occasionally your own way might work better for you than what other people are doing.
Depends on my mood… kind of like music.
